1. The best of Multifocal IOLs give about 90-95% vision for Distance and Near.
This is with best practices and selections.
2. Contrast - Amount of Light perceived
Some loss of Light does happen due to distribution of rays for both distance and near
3. Glare and Halos
If you habitually drive and night then avoid ALL Multifocals since some such phenomenon are common to all brands
4. Who can do Multifocals
All Eye Doctors do not do these lenses. Only the highly skilled and trained ones can since the margin for error is small and the dividing line between bravery and stupidity is narrow !
5. Satisfactory Results
Yes. Most patients will be very happy to have do with most of the daily tasks without any glasses at all.
6. Does Insurance pay for Multifocal Lenses
Some do. You need to check with the Insurance agency
